these are actually a blend of wool and silk. nothing is more comforting or feels better, does it? maya sleeps in her woolies every night...

and lives in them all day long, too, if we're not going out (as evidenced by most of the pictures of her here in my blog). and she wears them as a first layer under her clothes if we do go out. ahh, wool. how we love it at our house!
yours in wooly warmth,
shelley
So very nice indeed!
ReplyDeleteHow snuggly cute!!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you buy these? Machine wash, right?
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for woolies for my 8 year old son. Natural Pod sells them here in Vancouver Canada, but they do not have his size. Can you help me?
ReplyDeleteThanks

lowbeamstudios and eva - you can purchase these type of wool long johns at both novanatural.com and also palumba.com. as for washing, i always wash them by hand to prevent them from shrinking. it's super easy though - i just wash them in the sink, roll them in a towel to get the excess water out...then hang them to dry (which doesn't take long). :) - shelley
ReplyDeleteShe looks quite warm and peaceful. I have a Maia too, but mine is 11 now. :) Just found your blog and thought I'd say hello. Do come by and pay me a visit sometime! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Shelley!
ReplyDeleteI was signed in under my husbands username and left a comment. I didn't realize this until it was posted. Boy was he angry! oops! Anyway, I just wanted to say the pj's are cute. I try to wear pj's every chance I get. Have a great night.
PS. My first comment was way better, but I can't remember what I wrote. :)
Hi Shelley,
ReplyDeletemy husband's daughter drew my attention to your beautiful blog. I love the hats (especially the green one!), can't wait to see the other things you make. I am a waldorf mother of four (above mentioned daughter doesn't live with us), living with my American husband in Budapest, Hungary.
I like the links too, thogh the second from the bottom doesn't work for me.
How old is Maya?
I have seen the wool/silk combo and I think it is great for the little ones. I have always been into knitting pants for B, but now he says they are "too wooly". Making sweater pants out of old cashmere sweaters is nice too!
ReplyDeleteI love these
ReplyDeleteI have some big girl ones!
I love pics of sleeping babes.
ReplyDeleteI just realised that we will be doing 2 winters back to back this year,
'Wollies' for all I say!
'Wollies' for all! Xxx
Hello!
ReplyDeleteI have just found your lovely blog! We are former Waldorf school family, and still adhere to many Waldorf principals in our home. Your blog ( and children!) are lovely.

ReplyDeleteoh, those longies. we have them in cotton (as i don't want to use silk) and they are equally loved by my daughter. and guess what, i even bought some for myself!! *g*
