we have made it a tradition in our home this year to present maya with one small gift for each week of advent. each gift is handmade, either by myself or other craftspeople. and each is made using only natural, sustainable materials. this is our commitment to maya. and is a result of our pledge to purchase only handmade, one of a kind, eco-friendly toys and items for our home. i challenge you to make the same commitment. for your children, yourself and the environment. enjoy the creativity of handmaking the things you want yourself. or take the pledge! and enjoy supporting an artist or crafter directly. :)
yours in making the handmade pledge,
shelley

Lovely! If only the eyes were my wooden buttons! :0)
What a sweet little gift to treasure!
Shelly,
I love your blog and the beautiful thing you make for your daughter. I don't know if you have time to respond to this, but I was wondering about ideas for handmade gifts for older children, particularly boys. I have a few teenage boys and would love to handmake some of their gifts, but can't come up with too many ideas. Thank you,
Amy
Supercute. What a grand idea!
Always!

I have fallen in love . . . again!! Just Beautiful!!
We have started a similar tradition. O either has a special activity or a handmade gift for each day of advent. It has been a wonderful experience so far :)
