Your toys are just too beautiful. Are they all Ostheimer? I am in total toy envy. What a wonderful week of posts you have done ...

I'm sure you know this already...but there is a anthroposophical color for each day. Steiner gave a color that works with the plant and the organ etc

gypsy - yes, we have a lot of ostheimer toys. i've been collecting them for 20 years now! :)

teaching handwork - yes, i know about the anthroposophical colors for each day. but this particular 'color week' was hosted by leya over at curious bird, so i was following her color scheme. :) when i do my own 'color week' (which i definitely plan on doing sometime), i can trust i will follow steiner's colors. :)

I'm agreeing with Gypsy here about the toys, they're so beautiful. I've enjoyed reading your blog during color week.

Wow, your blog is so pretty! I've been starting a collection of Ostheimer for the past year, and trying out Waldorf at home wherever we can. So far I've discovered www.thewoodenwagon.com, www.novanatural.com, A Child's Dream, and Paper Scissors Stone. Would you list your sources for the toys and wood frames and such, please? The wooden frames are just so beautiful, I wish I could replace all our frames with them right now. I love the backdrop in your nature table image on your main page. Is that something you painted and put on the wall behind it? I'm trying to come up with something like that or find a felted hanging. So much beauty! I'll be back often. Thank you!

P.S. In case anyone else is overwhelmed by the expense of getting Ostheimer and other handmade luxeries, here is what has helped us get started. Our children are all preschool aged or younger, but we have several years worth of plastic toys and toy boxes etc. We sold those things on craigslist.org locally, and used the $ to start getting wooden toys and items. You'd be surprised how it adds up when you sell enough plastic toys for $10 each! I am a believer in sharing things with others too; so our policy is to pass along clothing to little friends, and some toys, and sell the rest to help us make the switch to wood that we'd otherwise not be able to make so quickly.
